K.J.V. Bible Text
Genesis 46 v. 8 starts a genealogical listing of the sons of Jacob and their families who went to Egypt at Joseph’s request. I will not go through the list because it is simple for you to read it for yourself. However, sixty-six people were on the list including Joseph. Counting the two children born to Joseph in Egypt, there were a total of 70 Israelites who began their new life in the land of the Pharaoh at the time of the famine.
The sheer magnitude of people and animals that the Pharaoh is willing to care for because of his regard for Joseph is staggering. What a testimony to the good regard a good man can acquire even in a lowly position (Remember, Joseph was a slave) when God is on his side.
