My Thoughts:

This section gives a continuing genealogy of the generations after Adam.  People were still living a long time, still having sons and daughters.  By this time, there must have been many people in the world.

Over and over we are told the name of one of Adam’s direct descendants and the number of years each of them lived before they died.  The most important point is very quickly stated and we must not miss it. In verse 23 we are told that Enoch lived a total of 365 years.  Verse 24 says, “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more because God took him away.

In other words, Enoch did not die.  God took him away.

Isn’t it marvelous to think that all those many years after creating Adam, God still walked closely with the generations of Adam and even took Enoch away with him instead of letting him die as did other men.  Enoch must indeed have walked faithfully with God.
